Amata Berghem is located in Amora, a small hamlet in the municipality of Selvino, on the Selvino-Aviatico plateau in the province of Bergamo. At an elevation of 1,000 meters, the village serves as a prime gateway to an area of rare natural beauty, far from the well-trodden paths of mass tourism.
The plateau is ideal for hiking and mountain biking along well-marked trails through beech and conifer forests. In summer, it offers cool temperatures and panoramic views of the Prealps; in winter, snow transforms the landscape into a fairy-tale-like silence. Nearby are the towns of Selvino and Aviatico, with their amenities and a few good restaurants serving traditional valley cuisine.
Bergamo - with its splendid Upper Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site - is about a 30-minute drive away. From Bergamo, you can easily reach Milan, Lake Como, Valtellina, and the more remote valleys of the Bergamo area.
