Amata Valgre - Location

In the heart of the park, ten minutes from Lecco

Amata Valgre is located in Valgreghentino, a small village in the province of Lecco just 10 km from the city, nestled among hills and mountains within the renowned Montevecchia and Curone Park.

The landscape here is the one described by Manzoni: the waters of the lake, the imposing silhouette of Mount Resegone, and the Grigna and Monte Tesoro in the background. The village lies along the St. Augustine Pilgrim’s Trail and overlooks an area rich in history: the Lombard fortress of Airuno, the Shrine of Czestochowa in Dozio, and the Shrine of St. Genesio are all just a few minutes away.

Within cycling distance - along the 21 km of the Adda Nord Park’s bike and pedestrian path - you can reach Imbersago with Leonardo’s ferry, Paderno with the San Michele Bridge (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and Trezzo d’Adda with the locks designed by Leonardo da Vinci and the workers’ village of Crespi d’Adda. Lake Como, with its gems - Varenna, Bellagio, Cernobbio, and Como - is accessible by boat or car.

Milan is about an hour’s drive away. Lecco is well-connected by public transportation.
